Can I Thwipp It?

Nov 29, 2018

This week we examine the history of Spider-Man in live action! From the first fan film in 1969 to Infinity War, Thwipp with us again!

Spider-Man was the first Marvel property to be brought to Hollywood by Stan Lee and the ole' web head had a bit of a rough start. Stan didn't like the 1977 made for TV movies much.  He said that Peter didn't seem like Peter.  We agree.  From there we explore the Japanese "Supaidāman" (1978-79) and then we go from TV into film.

Did you know in the late 80's Tom Cruise was set to be Peter and Bob (Mario) Hoskins was going to be Doc Ock?  That woulda been crazy. Once we're out of development hell we go through the Raimi-Verse then into the Webb-Verse then into what we all know and love today in the MCU.  Spidy has been through many variations and iterations but where we are now is just...Spectacular and Amazing!

Thwipp on you wondrous Web-heads!
